Paneling was CVG fir reclaimed from the Yelm Grange Hall

Behind the Vermont Castings woodstove is a slate wall, concealing a 1” air gap which serves as a heat shield.
Picture molding here lends a period detail, and allows a break line between wall and ceiling colors.
Some of the fir paneling from the Yelm Grange Hall reclamation had been painted, and couldn’t be included with the best of the lot. But we used the painted boards here, first stripping the old paint layers, sanding and repainting them, and installing them horizontally. This ½ bath near the kitchen and living room retains the vintage “cabin” look, while the paneling refers to the main room’s wall details.
Breakfast nook addition opened the kitchen to South-facing back yard.  Reclaimed fir floorboards add warmth

Original cabinets were stripped and repainted. Beaded ceiling adds a Country look.

All ceiling, wall and floor boards were from salvage
